June was a solid reading month. I finished 8 books (and started a few more I’ll probably wrap up in July). I’ve also been outlining Paranormal Misadventures 3, which means I’ll likely slow down on reading for a bit. Priorities, right?

That said, I squeezed in some amazing books this month—from chilling paranormal thrillers to series finales I wasn’t emotionally ready for. Here’s everything I read in June, in the order I finished it:

1. Dead Heat by Annabel Chase

Another strong installment in the Crossroads Queen series—book seven raises the stakes, deepens the mythology, and reminds me why Lorelei remains one of the most compelling paranormal heroines out there. Danger, wit, emotion—it’s all here.

2. How to Fake a Haunting by Christa Carmen

This is not your average ghost story. It’s layered, subversive, and genuinely unsettling in the best way. I found this ARC through Bookthreads, and it left me both rattled and deeply satisfied. Highly recommend if you like your horror smart and sharp.

3. Heartless Hunter by Kristen Ciccarelli

This is enemies-to-lovers done right. It’s angsty, dark, and absolutely dripping with tension. I was hooked from the first chapter and stayed up way too late finishing it.

4. Immortal Death by Lauretta Hignett

The final book in the Imogen Gray series. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye, but this finale delivers exactly what the series promised: action, humor, twists, and heart. A satisfying end to a series I’ve really enjoyed.

5. Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood

Smart, funny, and emotionally vulnerable. If you’ve ever felt like you had to perform to be accepted, this one hits hard. Hazelwood nails the STEM romance once again.

6. The Diamond Palace by T.M. Kirk

You'll love this one! It’s a raw, emotionally resonant story about trauma and healing, with stunning world-building and a heroine who feels painfully real. It gutted me (in a good way).

7. Rebel Witch by Kristen Ciccarelli

This sequel delivers on every level: forbidden romance, magical rebellion, emotional tension, and layered character arcs. The Crimson Moth duology might be one of my favorite series this year. I loved it... but I wouldn’t want to live in that world.

8. Overmorrow by Lancelot Schaubert

A surreal, beautifully written story about grief, memory, and imagination. What starts as a girl’s search for her brother becomes something much bigger—deeper, stranger, and quietly heartbreaking.

That’s it for June! I’ll be shifting gears a bit to focus on writing (Nightwinger’s Kiss is starting to take shape!), but I’ll still squeeze in some great reads where I can. As always, if you loved any of these too—or plan to pick them up—don’t forget to leave a rating or review. It really helps authors keep doing what they do.
