A few months ago I came across another self-published book and I instantly fell in love with the story. It’s called The Unwanted by Z.T. Soyoye.

An original fantasy with relatable characters and a unique plot that kept me by the edge of my set. The Unwanted is an incredible young adult story of self-discovery, superpowers, and friendship in a battle against a terrible tragedy.

 

About the author

Writing has always been a hobby and a cathartic experience for me. Turning my passion for telling stories into a career as an Author has been one of my significant accomplishments. Since 2016, I’ve been constantly educating myself with new ideas and challenging myself to improve my writing techniques and develop a unique writing style in order to provide the most immersive experience to my readers.

15-year-old Alexander Charon embarks on his journey at a new school as he struggles to form bonds and relationships with those around him. He begins to unravel his hidden talents, forcing his life to take an unexpected turn as he witnesses the murder and kidnapping of his friends.

He must use his newly found skills to solve mysteries and protect those he cares for before it’s too late. Can Alex rise up as he attempts to persevere against adversities? Or will he fall into despair as hope dwindles with each new obstacle?

This is an amazing story of courage, self discovery and so much more. I enjoyed following the characters as they discovered their talents. This was such a breath of fresh air, I really enjoyed reading this book and especially about the friendship between Alex, Anthony and Emma. I really loved their relationship and each character was well rounded, solid, caring, kind and really enjoyable to read about.
I was fascinated by this story, especially by the special abilities that each character seems to have. I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series because I have a feeling that there is still so much more to learn, especially after everything that happened in the last part of the book.
