If you're looking for a conclusion to the "Gate of Myth and Power" trilogy, "The King's Queen" by K.M. Shea is a satisfying enough read. Although, I wouldn't raise your expectations too high. You'll finally get the answers you've been seeking from the previous two books, but it may not be as surprising as you had hoped.

As far as the romance goes, it's a clean romance. So don't expect any steamy scenes or more than a few kisses. However, I was a bit disappointed with the development of the protagonists and their reunion. I expected more from them, and their declaration of love lacked the passion and emotion I was waiting for.

K.M. Shea went all out on foreshadowing, and I could guess some of the big reveals. However, it was good to get confirmation. I wish there was more character development, especially for Noctus and Chloe's relationship.

Overall, I don't regret reading this series, but I don't think K.M. Shea's writing is for me. However, if you're a fan of clean romance, then this trilogy may be worth a read.

Our final verdict:
3.00
